Community Health Centers
Community health centers (CHCs) are non-profit medical practices that provide comprehensive, affordable, patient centered care. Currently, there are 16CHCs in Alabama providing primary care to almost 350,000 Alabamians. Community health centers have an overall economic impact of almost $150 million annually and employ 2,000 individuals statewide. CHCs provide primary health care services in family practice, pediatricians, internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, and related diagnostic, treatment, consultative, referral, and other services rendered by physicians and mid-level providers.
