The Alabama Primary Health Care Association has ten (10) standing committees:

Bylaws Committee
The Bylaws Committee reviews and recommends appropriate revisions to the Board of Directors as needed.

Consumer and Legislative Advocacy Committee
The CLA Committee consists of the organizational member’s board chairs/presidents or their designees. The Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the development and support of grassroots advocacy and legislative activities. These activities include assisting the Association in developing a community based advocacy network to support the legislative and advocacy goals of the Association. Legislative issues may include the support or opposition of new legislation as well as the promotion of the Association and Alabama’s community health centers.

Emergency Communications Network Task Force

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is composed of the Board President, Vice-President, Immediate Past President (other than the current President), Secretary and Treasurer. The Executive Committee is responsible for the implementation of programs, policies and finances of the Association.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee reviews the finances of the organization and makes financial reports to the Board of Directors. The Committee also considers and recommends financial policies, review sources of funds, recommend funding guidelines and develop the annual budget for the Association.

Health Information Technology Committee
The HIT Committee provides technological support and expertise for purposes of strategic planning and leveraging opportunities among Association members.

Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee considers and presents position nominees to the Board of Directors at the annual election meeting.

Personnel Committee
The Personnel Committee develops personnel policies to govern the APHCA Board of Directors and APHCA staff.

Program Planning Committee
The Program Planning Committee recommends the development of programs, planning, evaluation and research for the Association.

Quality Improvement Committee
The QI Committee consists of all Clinical Services Directors/Medical Directors or other designee of the Association’s organizational membership. The Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors and other appropriate Committees regarding clinical programs including training and development needs to improve quality and reduce health disparities in the delivery of primary care to patients served by the membership.
