Alabama's health centers are dedicated to providing quality and affordable medical services through a comprehensive medical home model. The centers work with families to help them maintain good health through primary care services, nutritional assessments and counseling, social services, preventive health education, well child visits, screenings, prenatal care and a host of other support services. Health centers offer discounted charges so that all Alabamians can afford services.
Studies consistently demonstrate lower health costs for health center patients--30 percent lower than for other providers serving the same population. Health centers achieve significant savings in Medicaid and Medicare by effecting managing patient care and reducing the need for emergency department visits and hospital stays.
