As the situation in the Gulf of Mexico changes daily as a result of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill it is critical that you stay up to date with the latest clinical guidelines. Below is the most recently updated information regarding Alabama's response to the crisis. For more information, please contact Kat Rodman at kat@alphca.com.
AIMS System Oil Spill Alert
The State AIMS system has been activated in response to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico for Mobile and Baldwin counties only. This activation is a little different than when the AIMS system was activated for the H1N1 virus in that you will fill out the attached reporting document instead of logging into the AIMS system. The report must be faxed in daily by 12 noon whether or not you have seen any patients complaining of medical ailments related to exposure to oil.
Currently only Mobile and Baldwin counties are required to submit this form. However, if any other centers sees a patient complaining of symptoms as a result of oil exposure, they should also fill out a report and fax that in as well. Should you have any questions please contact Tom Tucker at tom@alphca.com or 334.271.7068.
