APHCA provides training and education on topics of importance to primary care centers. Additionally, APHCA hosts four educational conferences each year — the Legislative Forum, the Alabama Networking Forum, the Annual Conference and Clinical Forum, and the Alabama Quality Summit. This training module focuses on the role of the board and CEO, the characteristics of an effective board, strategic planning, and the Legal and Leadership Responsibilities of a CHC Board.

APHCA offers many opportunities for professional development and networking including the APHCA Annual Conference and Clinical Forum, Annual Networking Forum, Annual Community Health Center Legislative Day, and Quality Summit. Various training seminars are available for the entire health center staff. Root Cause Analysis
The first step toward improving the effectiveness of community health center operations and overall quality of health care delivered is to agree upon what should be measured and improved. This technical assistance module provides an overview of basic root cause analysis strategies critical to understanding why operational and clinical issues arise.
Advocacy Training and Development
Advocacy trainings are designed to motivate and educate. You will learn the nuts and bolts of how to be a successful advocate for Alabama’s community health centers. During training, you will learn how to:

- Be a successful advocate during the legislative process
- Form an advocacy committee in your local health center

Community Development Services
Through a comprehensive process of mapping assets, identifying deficiencies, and facilitating community forums, the Community Development program helps target rural and urban communities develop and strengthen primary care delivery networks. This program supported by the Bureau of Primary Health Care's "100% access, zero health disparities" initiative provides a means for communities to pull resources and stakeholders together to coordinate a more efficient delivery system.
