The Alabama Primary Care Association is committed to providing consulting and support services to its members to facilitate an environment of continued improvement in operations and clinical care delivery. Through various services, APHCA assist CHCs in creating a culture of excellence that promote safe, high quality care, efficient and innovative operations supported by sound organizational policies and educational programs. APHCA's Quality Initiatives are based on the core belief that community health centers provide primary care prevention services through the best model of care--one that starts with the patient and is outcomes focused.
Goals of the CQP
- To support integrated clinical quality improvement efforts in CHCs
- To facilitate strategic partnerships for clinical quality improvement resource development
- To monitor/assess emerging issues affecting Alabama's CHCs
- To develop and implement training programs to support an integrated approach to Quality Management
- To strengthen clinical support and resource systems through the Clinician’s Network
- To identify Best Practices and develop mentoring programs to support new programs and/or new staff
- To provide programmatic continuity for sites during staff transition
- To provide programmatic support for new starts
- To assist sites in implementing a quality and risk management program into daily operations
Consulting and support services are available through APHCA to support improvement at all levels of the organization, beginning with the senior leader, promote effective improvement strategies aimed at comprehensive system change, encourage open and systematic handling of errors and quality problems to improve care, and provide incentives based on quality of care.
