From Threat to Response: Strengthening Cybersecurity Through Simulation
Presenter: MedicusIT
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
In this interactive session, participants will explore the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices for defense. A key component of the training is a hands-on tabletop exercise, where attendees will walk through a simulated cyber incident in real time. This exercise is designed to help participants identify vulnerabilities, test response strategies, and improve coordination across teams during a potential breach or system compromise.
Attendees will also gain insight into the growing complexity of cyberattacks and the rising importance of cloud security. The session covers essential strategies for strengthening cybersecurity, including multifactor authentication, regular data backups, the need for cyber insurance, and the critical role of employee awareness and training.
Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of both preventive and responsive cybersecurity measures, as well as familiarity with leading-edge tools and technologies such as intrusion detection systems, threat intelligence platforms, network security solutions, and data recovery methods.
Building a Resilient Community: Community Health Centers and Health Care Coalitions Partnering for Health Care Preparedness and Response
Presenter: Center for Disaster Healthcare Preparedness
12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Part 1: Alabama Incident Management System (AIMS) Overview: Attendees will be provided an overview and demonstration of AIMS, a healthcare situational awareness platform developed and managed by USA-HDHP on behalf of the Alabama Department of Public Health- Center for Emergency Preparedness (ADPH-CEP) in 2003. AIMS has evolved and expanded its vast capabilities over the past 20 years, including healthcare data collection, communications, information sharing, resource sharing, support, and much more. AIMS is available to community health centers free of charge. Join us for this 1 hour overview and learn how to gain access and additional training.
Part 2: AIMS and Health Care Coalitions: Attendees will be provided with an overview and opportunity for community health centers to get connected with 1 of 9 Alabama Healthcare Coalitions, a national program to prevent, respond, recover, and build resilience for public health emergencies and disasters. Health care entities such as CHCs typically operate independently of one another as they provide care within the communities they serve; however, when disasters strike, these organizations must have strong plans and partnerships in place to overcome the challenges they face and help to save lives. Learn how Healthcare Coalitions can partner with you and support your preparedness and response capabilities.
